Peer 2 Peer:

Cosmology is defined as the meaningful search for order in the universe. What any person or group believes about the nature of the universe and their place in it has pivotal consequences for how they choose to understand and respond to all aspects of life. Anthropological cosmologies propose that ideas about the cosmos are an integral part of human art, culture, and social systems. Through the way it shapes an understanding of the world, the study of anthropological cosmologies informs why and how people think and behave in wider culture. In an era of political and cultural polarization, and the use of fundamental belief structures to justify dissent, misinformation, and conflict, this exhibition postulates at a macro level the case for an openness to compare, contrast, and understand different approaches to worldbuilding.
